The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    xps m1330 won't 'sleep'

    Just got my laptop, and I'm all happy and excited. but everyone knows it's only a matter of time before we start complaining :)

    99.9% of the laptop's functions work as expected, but when I try to put it to sleep, it 'wakes up' immediately, not even spinning down the fan. The screen does blank for a moment however (2-3 secs). Has anyone else experienced this problem, or come accross a solution? I'd like to try and conserve as much power as possible without actually shutting down the machine.
