I have an xvid movie that I want to play and it's sooo annoying! i downloaded the codec (i know its the right one, from koepi.org) and I try to run my video and it keeps saying that media player cannot support the file! Help! i've tried downloading every single codec pack! i've restarted my computer! nothing works!

Personally I would download the K-lite codec pack. You will surely get all the codecs then. That's what I have and I have zero issues with getting any kind of media to work.
Here is the link: http://www.free-codecs.com/K_Lite_Codec_Pack_download.htm -
thanks for both your posts! the FAQ had some suggestions but none worked.. I downloaded K-lite (full).. but that still didn't work! it just doesn't render! i looked it up and someone said using gspot to see if the file was not corrupt and i loaded the file.. but it says rendering failed. !?
it still doesn't work! is it corrupt? because I downloaded a similar video before this and it didnt work either.. -
Just download the CCCP codec pack. http://www.cccp-project.net/
