Ok when I go to youtube there seems to be a blue mark on the logo. I try to wipe it off but It doesnt come off. I go to other pages and I dont see the mark. I open up a new tab with all white and i dont see the mark. Is this happening t o anyone else? Could it be a hardware issue with my lcd? because I dont see the mark in other places.
-
-
Perhaps try taking a screenshot of it and see if it's still there?
-
yea I tried that and its still there on the picture.
-
I hope you haven't been smoking to much or something!
-
-_- Well Do you see the little blue mark? I hope it isnt a scratch on my lcd.
-
could It bee a problem with the website?
-
I'm afraid if you don't post a screenshot we can't help you.
-
everytime I save it to photbucket you cant see the mark anymore
-
I can't see anything wrong with the screenshot. Does the logo actually look different?
-
it looks liek a blue mark but everytime I save the picture in paint it makes it all blury and you cant really see it. When I went to the log in page I didnt see it but In all he videos and homepage it shows
-
If you can't see it on a saved screenshot then it is a hardware issue. Either LCD or GPU.
Try loading youtube in Internet Explorer and see if it looks the same. -
It could be the monitor itself not showing the right color
-
Well If I see the mark in the screen shot does that mean there is nothing wrong with my computer?
-
Ofcourse..
-
An old Medion we had always ahd a blue instead of black pixel.
It can be a bad pixel on your screen.
Or its some other issue... when I open the ICQ software some pixels in the top left corner "semi-die" - close the software they are back...don't ask why or how... -
Well here what happens. On channel pages or log in pages on youtube the line isnt there. The screen shot shows the line also. Also how do i do the ICQ thing. it might help me. Also there are no other problem with other websites or programs etc. And the line only seems to stay on the logo and not move at all
-
It may be some odd incompatebility that shouldn't exist as it technically can't.
Try different colours on that area of the screen.
If you can't duplicate the effect its just one of those "odd things". -
How would I change that? I am afraid that if I do that then other websites will have discolorations.
-
it might be the youtube logo might have burned into your screen... especially if you spend a lot of time on that site.
anyway you can get a pic with a digital camera? -
I tried and the line is too light to show up. Its a very faint blue line. But still how come the line doesnt show up in different sites and only on youtube?
-
4Fingers97, take the time to read the posts instead of asking questions. Take a picture of your screen with a camera. Slow down.
-
have you tested it on an external monitor?
-
-
Well... most cameras have a macro mode whic will easily allow you to distinguish individual pixels... if it doesn't show up it doesn't exist... - at least as far as I am concerned....
-
Mines a sony handy cam vide recorder with a picture takeing mode in it. So how do I do a color change on a certain site? Is there anyway to remove the logo for my IP?
-
So is it a site problem or something? Is there anything else I can do? Do oyu think mabey its the new firefox I installed? 3.0.8?
-
You know, because we can't seem to clearly pin your problem down to a specific issue we can't tell...
-
Well how else can I show the the screen shot? it keeps vanishing everytime I try to upload it to photobucket
-
....
If it is on your screeshot, crop the affected area and then enlarge it.
(Yes, interpolation, that should make te effect more noticeable)
By the way: If it shows up on a screenshot (not in the same location but is moveable) then its not a hardware problem. -
Maximize your window, then also make it a small resized movable window. If it's still on the logo when you drag your browser around the screen, it's a browser/graphics/website problem. If it stays up top where the logo used to be, it's a monitor problem.
-
I know that. I move it around and the mark stays on the logo even when it moves around. But I want to know how to take it off. It only shows on the youtube logo and it moves around when the screen shot or window moves
-
It did go away on its own i think it was a cached logo image that was corrupt or so...
Do try with explorer... if not update your video drivers.
if it moves with the small window then its most likely not hardware.
You have nvidia video or intel integrated video? -
OK - well, its caused by some error in the code or some exception.
Don't bother about it, your hardware is fine. -
I tried it with explorer and it still has the line, I have a Nvidia graphics card.

Hi mate
I have seen this problem before..
Its called 'stuck' pixel..
I remember this is what happens to my mate lcd monitor: on certain website with a blue background, he can see a single red dot. however, when he switches to a website with white background, the red dot is gone.
TO CONFIRM THIS, use DEAD PIXEL BUDDY TO CHECK IT:
http://www.laptopshowcase.co.uk/downloads.php?id=1
Make sure u run all the color test available as the problem may only appear on certain color
TO Fix, 'stuck' or dead pixel: well, there is not much u can do as most manufacturer has a minimum number of dead/stuck pixel before they consider it to be faulty.. however, if your nbk is brand new, u should be able to exchange it
another method that might work 30% of the time, is to massage the dead/stuck pixel gently.. BE very careful when you are doing this as you could also potentially further worsens the problem by damaging other pixels.. -
I dont see any dead pixels on any color. they are all solid colors with no discloeration or a pixel out of place
-
Would there be any way to fix that image? you said something about coding. Is there something I can do to fix it?
-
if its just a bad cached image, press ctrl+F5 to do a hard refresh which will download the logo again and fix any problems.
-
it didint really do anything. the mark is still there. But it still stays on the logo when I move the window around.
-
Its a bad immage - press Ctrl + F5 to reload eveything - or clear out your temp files and reload the page.
Your hardware is OK.
And if the immage on the Youtube server is bad ou can't do anything about it. -
I did the ctrl f5 and it didnt work. How do you clear out temp files in FF? I Only know how to clear out temp files in IE. Is the privacy thing temp files?
-
DON'T PANIC. HOLD ON TO YOUR TOWEL.
If the blue line can move, then it is not any particular pixel on your screen that is damaged.
If it's not the monitor, then the worst problem it could be is your graphics drivers. If you really care so much, then just update them.
If the problem is still not solved, then take a deep breath, and relax, because there's nothing you can do about it. It's like if your beautiful wife chews too loud - just smile and bear the little things because of the value of the big picture. -
try the "delete private data" option
-
OK how do I update a NVIDIA GT 9600m geforce card on a windows vista 64 bit os?
-
Download and extract. Then open the extracted location and start the setup file.
-------------------------------------
That said I doubt this is really a driver or hardware issue worth trying to solve. Is a blue line through a logo really work the time it takes to fix it? -

You have tried both IE and FF, both show the same ugly logo.
You took a screen shot, copy it in paint, and the ugly logo is still visible in paint. Then you save this image as JPG and open the save image with a image viewer and the ugly logo is still there. Then you upload it to photobucket, and view the image a third time, but now the logo looks fine.
Is this right? Please correct me if something was wrong.
Now a few further questions:
What's your native display resolution?
What's your notebook?
Do you use any magnifying in IE or Firefox or do you view the webpages at 100% zoom factor?
Could you make a screenshot of this logo or the not properly working parts again and edit it with a pen in Paint until it looks similar to the logo you see, then upload this modified image to photobucket again, so that we know what you see. -
The only part you got wrong was when i save it. I dont see it when I save the pictures.
1.my display is 1,280 by 800
2. its a hp pavilion dv7
3. No I look at it normaly with no magnifcation
I edited this time but you BARLY BARLY can see the line that good but its better then nothing.
-
FrankTabletuser Notebook Evangelist
maybe you should upload it with the forum attachment or crop the image so it does not get resized by Photobucket. And draw a red circle around the spot, so we can identify it easier.
You don't see this after or before you've saved it?
It seems to be a really odd problem you have at the moment.
As all the others already said it does not look as if your hardware has a defect.
It more looks like a software issue. So you should try the latest drivers AuroraAlpha linked to.
edit: The HP Pavilion DV7 is a 17" notebook with a native resolution of 1600 x 900. Why don't you set the resolution to the correct values, or have I some wrong informations. -
Ok I edited again so the line looks bolder even though its faint. I see it barly after I save it but not as clear.
-
So do you guys see what I mean now?
