Am I crazy, or did I get a good deal? :-)

    Cool, glad you are happy with it. I found the sweet spot to be about 2-3 months after a new model is released is when there are usually TONS of outlet refurbs or returns available.

    I don't know Sony so well , but I would not expect a consumer oriented company to offer the same caliber of warranty support as an enterprise oriented computer maker. I say this as a satisfied purchaser of several Sony home theatre components over the years :)

    What I mean is Dell, IBM, HP all do huge business with large corporations and government. A business model like Latitude is produced in staggering quantities. On any given day a corporation will order hundreds even thousands of one model all with the same specs. So there should be no problem getting parts or support for 3-4 years from date the model was introduced. Even if parts become unavailable there will be many old "scrapped" models to be salvaged for parts on the used market.

    no offense but I don't consider what you got a deal. The deals are found at the outlet or rarely on ebay where you can find a latitude with complete care.

    May be a little high, but it's like this. If you are happy with the purchase, then yes you got a good deal and maybe a little crazy..Lol just kidding about being crazy.
