I upgraded from XP where the ALS would always fluctuate but I can't get it to do it anymore. i know it must be working because the keyboard doe snot light up if I am in a bright environment.

I am not sure it is working for the LCD screen anymore since it does not fluctuate. Does anyone else notice this or noticed that the behavior with Windows 7 changed dramatically?

It seems to only activate once and if the lighting conditions change around you it will never adjust unless you disable it wait a few seconds and re-enable it.

Mine is doing the same thing but I can't get to the settings for it-whatever I do-I just can't get it to show the "threshold" settings for the light sensor.

I'm using a D630 with a Windows 7 version of QuickSet snagged from an newer inspiron or something, lol.
