Seems information is very scarce on the next generation of latitude E6x20 series.

Only thing I know up to this point is Dell is looking for an early spring release of the E6520, E6420, and E6320 (replacing E4310), and late spring/early summer release of E6220 (replacing E4200).

Anyone else have any info? such as specs?

From what I've been reading, it will have SB, which sucks, as I just bought my E6410. But, the E6420 will cost a lot more than my $800 budget.

Only if you want to buy upgrades from Dell :D I actually doubt a base E6420 will cost more than $800. And there's always Outlet units usually no more than a month after released...

True, my only real requirements are an Nvidia(or ATi) GPU and the 1440x900 screen.

Right now as base latitude is $699. With Nvidia GPU and WXGA+ screen its $847 plus tax. But only 1GB ram.

EDIT: WOW I just configured a new e6410 on Dell, and a model with the same specs as mine(in sig), but with i3 would have cost $1400:eek: I paid $850 for mine:D

I could be wrong, but I would almost guarantee all screens will be 16:9, including the E6420

I wouldn't have a problem with a 16:9 14.0" E6420, but they have to provide at least 1600x900 as an option

Only then would it be an improvement over the existing WXGA+ maximum resolution.

I really wish there were still more mainstream 15.4" 16:10 laptops though, since 16÷10 is way closer to the golden ratio (phi, 1.61803399...) than 16÷9. The perfect aspect ratio is around 16:9.88854382, and 16:10 was pretty damn close to that. Why would we move away from something that's psychologically proven to be aesthetically pleasing?
