My vostro 1500's graphic card is almost done I think. Fortunately I can replace the graphic card in this laptop. I know that 8400M GS & 8600M GT are available. Is there any new models I can choose from over the years?

The 8400M and 8600M are your only options. Dell hasn't made and isn't going to make new cards for old machines.

Yup what Wolf said. Dell uses a proprietary MXM 8400M GS and 8600M GT for the Vostro 1500 and that's about it.

Ok, thank you. I will get a 8600M GT then.

Vostro 1500 has an expresscard slot, wifi and wwan slot. It may be able to do a x2, or x2E DIY ViDock, depending on what the port layout is. A HD6850@x2E DIY ViDock will be a serious upgrade over the 8400M/8600M GT.
