See thread title... maybe a i7 620M top-end CPU option, optional 880M Quadro... would be sweet. :D

According to sources here there will not be a refresh for the M2400. Even if there were, there's pretty much 0 chance of getting the 880M in it.

    No more 14" workstation huh? Pity. :( I figured if they could stuff the 1800M into a 15", why couldn't the 880M fit in a 14", y'know? :D

Typically they prefer sticking with a 64-bit card. Personally, I agree with you and wouldn't mind a 128-bit card. Honestly though, the 64-bit card is almost identical to the Latitude E6410, so you aren't missing much. Also, IMO the 620M and even the 720QM is not worth the cost. Stick with the 520M or 540M (heck even the lower end Ci7s aren't noticeably slower than the 620M or 720QM).

What quad support? If it supported quad cores, it would be out, like the HP Elitebook 8440w. I don't think Dell had any plans to refresh the 14" workstation as it wasn't mentioned in the roadmap nor discussed by hactovex.

I could never go with a i5 520M or 540M... I'm OCD enough that just knowing the chip under the hood is a partially "broken" piece of die-harvested silicon would bother me to no end.

our dell sales rep has said a Q2 refresh model M2410 is on the way the fact that it's not a m2500 worries me.
