    Hi,

My precision M2400 wireless "drops" very often ( at least twice within a few hours ).

My lenovo X61 ( using Intel 3945ABG) using same wireless connection no problem at all.

    Both running MS XP prof. ( M2400 - patch 3 & X61 on patch 2 )

When the M2400 wireless "drops", i can still ping and it return 0% loss. DNS issue ???

I've tried to uninstall the wirless INTEL WIFI Link 5300AGN & re-install latest from dell support site ( according to DELL support), but still same issue.

Anyone can help ? Could it be due to M2400 having a N-card ?

    Regards,

    Jon Lau

so mine does not so much as drop as not alway re-connect when i come out of hibernate, have disabled N support (set the card to a/b/g mode) but 2 out of 3 times so far i have to force the connection (disconect from network then reconect to network) - could be a driver issue -

It turned out channel 3 also giving problem...And i noticed my M2400 becomes slow at times, sleep or hibernation "hang" when the system wake up and even controlpoint application becomes very slow.:(

Called dell support and they suggested a re-installation of the OS as the factory default "image" might be giving some problem.

So i did a complete installation of XP and now have to use channel 6 on the router. Now, the system is more stable...

Waiting to see whether the wireless "drops" or not.

No problems .. using intel 5100 and 11g exclusively with the notebook; never drops and can aways find the preferred network when it comes out of sleep.
