After buying my E6500 through my college, I was really pleased with it, but my only regret was that the lack of customization meant I wouldn't have a backlit keyboard. After mentioning it, afhstingray told me I could find them on eBay for cheap, and I did (~$25)! I just received it and installed it, and it works perfectly! I may be overreacting a bit, but I fell like my computer is now twice as good as it had been! :D

Thanks to NBR forums, and especially afhstingray. Without all of you, I wouldn't have this awesome piece of equipment on my awesome computer!

Backlit keyboard does make things so much easier. Glad to hear you are enjoying it :)

I've never used a backlit keyboard myself, but everyone I know that uses them would never go back. I just never look down at my keyboard...

Could you buy a Studio 15 backlit and put it in an m1530, everything seems to line up perfectly, would it work?

wow, wharrel. I also went from an inspiron 8600 (which i still have and use) to a dell latitude e6400, and likewise I am also very happy with my purchase! The backlit keyboard is terrific, although I have yet to be in a situation where I have actually found it necessary.

I just thought it was cool how we bought very similar laptops :D (although, I did also have a dv2000 which I eventually gave to my parents).
