Here's a short clip of what my lcd is doing when I turn on my machine. I removed the lcd and replugged everything back in but I still have the same problem. Does it look like I need a new LCD screen? (Laptop is out of warranty so this is gonna be a DIY job)

Thanks for your help in advance.

I'd say it's a problem with the GPU (graphics card). What model GPU does it have? If it has the 8400GS or 8600GT, those are known to be problematic.

Thanks....i hooked it up to an external monitor and it worked fine through the monitor so i don't think it's the video card.

Does it not POST? In the video, it looked like it stopped and never went past the Dell screen.

Like gauden44 said, it might be your GPU since the 8400M GS has an abnormally high failure rate.

Since it worked through external monitor, most likely isn't video card. Does opening and closing and trying it a t different positions help anything?
