Is anyone running the Corsair X256 SSD with an E6400 without any problems?

I recently replaced my stock drive with the X256 SSD (love the speed) Everything worked beautifully for three day, on the fourth... "No bootable devices found, please reseat your hard drive" message appears at morning boot.

I reseat the drive and boots fine. Next day, same thing... I found myself reseating the drive every morning multiple reseats at times. Appears to happen every morning and when resuming from sleep.

I have the latest drives, chipset, BIOS, you name it. I posted on Crosair's Forum and was advised to disable sleep mode. I did and problem still occurs. Today Dell sent out a tech to replace my motherboard, I guess I'll know tonight or tomorrow if the cause was the Mobo.

Anyone successfully running an SSD on their system?

I'm pulling my hair and I don't have much left!

    Thanks!

Been using a first generation X25-M for more than half a year now without any issues. Before that I used a Samsung RBX SLC for about a year without any issues either. No reason the Corsair drive should be this finicky; I'd venture you most likely have a bad drive or at the very least, something out of the ordinary is going on.

That's a weird problem. I've had no problems with Samsung or Kingston SSDs.

I've run multiple SSD on both E6400 and E4300, neither have had any problems.

I've had Samsung PM800, OCZ Vertex, Agility, Intel X25M, Kingston V and V+ series, Corsair P series and X series, Supertalent (can't remember model), and Dell/Samsung OEM.

All have worked fine (longest one has been in use for over a year).

I don't usualy shut the machine off. I put it into standby/suspend whenever I'm not using it (several times a day).

I have a latitude E6400 which I have upgraded with a Crucial CT256M SSD disk. The PC is now extremely fast :)

The problem :( is that the laptop goes into blue screen (BOD) if I leave it unused for a while. The machine states that there is no bootable device, and it does not find the disk even though I press the button to retry booting.

It finds the disk and reboots after I turn the PC off and on.

I have the latest BIOS and firmware both for the PC and the SSD.
The machine is running Win7 64 bit, and the SSD is running AHCI mode

    Has anyone else experienced this?
    Any suggestions what to do?

I've merged this with another thread describing a similar problem with another SSD.

The problem with the Corsair X256 sounds very similar. Let us know if a new MB helps.

Additional information - this is actually my second SSD. The same problem happened with the first SSD (of the same type but with an older firmware), but that one actually died after one of the black out events. Luckily I had a complete backup. The one I use now is the replacement I received for free (but I keep making backups, expecting a new break down any time).

Update - installing the Intel RST (Rapid Storage Techn.) driver seems to have solved this problem, but instead I now have a latency problem, about which I have found a large separate thread on this forum. With the RST driver I can't play sound or video on the machine because there are extremely annoying dropouts every 5-10 seconds or so. Without the driver I experience BOD if I leave the PC alone. How is that for a Catch 22? Anyone interested in a used e6400?

I wonder if you need the latest Intel drivers but without the storage software.

Get the drivers only from the Intel site and do a manual installation. This thread may help.
