It does require some soldering I believe. I repaired countless amount of those by replacing the board in that series. I am assuming its not under warranty any longer correct?

The service manual does not show the power jack as a separate module so I suspect that it is soldered onto the system board.

So, I bought that Original Foxconn AC Connector from Ebay.. I have never replaced/soldered anything before though. I do have a Solder gun, and the solder, so i should be alright, to do this. Anyone have a how to, or tips on how to do this?..

    Thanks.

I do not recommend you do it yourself, take it into a shop, it may cost you, but one slip, and you could do some damage. I once tried to do the exact same thing with another notebook, and I killed it. Though if you do decide to do it yourself have a read of this.

Nice guide! Not sure if they said anything about this, but in my experience (and in some cases) the copper can come off the contacts. Just be very careful if you plan on doing this yourself.

The other route is getting another MB and keeping your original one as a backup.

Thanks for that. I think i will do it. I can take the laptop 100% apart right down to the Motherboard already so its just the soldering. If i find out i can not do it, i will take then just the MB to a local computer shop with the part and have them do the soldering.. (Local being 33 Miles away....) Then i can put it back together, and should be good to go... I really did get nervous when it first happened because i thought this meant i had to replace the MB.

    Anyways, thanks again. :)
