Ok I'm bored, I'm playing with my old D600 (I remember fondly when it was brand new) and I would like to install a SSD I no longer use. Does anyone make a plastic adapter so a SSD can be mounted?

What kind of SSD are you looking at? You can just buy a regular PATA SSD and you won't need any adapter. I don't think there's anything that will let you use a standard-sized SATA SSD with the machine (at least not without half the drive sticking out of the machine).

Otherwise, you can get stuff for CD cards, ZIF SSDs, maybe 1.8" SATA SSDs, etc, etc...

It's one of the early Samsung SSD's. I used to have it in my M1330. Due to age it's just not feasible to put any money into this D600. Good to see you're still around Commander Wolf.

Might be able to buy an PATA optical drive bay adapter...but you would be limited by the PATA bus, plus no AHCI...and I doubt you would get TRIM..

That's a good point! You can get a SATA hard drive caddy that fits the modular bay... it might be PATA and all, but that Samsung drive (probably RBX series?) won't saturate the PATA bus and it doesn't support TRIM anyway.
