I bought a used D630 with a 1gb stick of ram. I checked the back cover and there isn't a stick there, so I'm sure it's under the keyboard. Also, the top button plate was not seated properly so I assume that the reseller changed the RAM out.

I want to get a matching 1gb stick to put in the back - is there a way to identify the stick under the keyboard without actually tearing it apart? I looked in the BIOS and all it said was 1gb DDR2 memory.

    Thanks :D

Try CPUZ... you can usually get the speed, latency, brand and part number.

Though honestly, there's really no point in getting a matching DIMM... you're not going to notice any difference between the exact same part and some generic 1GB DDR2 stick. At all.
