I just got done swapping the motherboard of a totaly dead D630 laptop, and to my amazement, the new motherboard dell sent me has a bad dock port!

I double checked to make sure I connected everything up right.

Has anyone else seen this? It's very fustrating. I have seen this before with a couple D620 motherboards.

The laptop works fine otherwise but will not see the dock. And I tried both a D dock and the regular dock.

    Any sugestions?

Contact Dell and have it exchanged?

I have only seen a broken D-series docking connector once, a long time ago.

That's what you get with refurbished. ;) I always do a thorough test of everything if it's possible (obviously not going to dig up some device with a serial connector just to test that).
