I just got a D630 that work was going to get rid of. It has a 2.2GHz C2D, and an IPU.

How warm do these get and is it worth changing the thermal paste?

Changing the thermal grease is always a good idea, although it requires removing the palmrest.

I get about 130F idle with my D630, but with Nvidia graphics. The Intel GMA system should run cooler, which do you have?

    I have the GMA x3100.

Thanks for your help. I hear the D630 is a PITA to take apart, but it can't be to much worse than a MacBook Pro.

beware that you will need a copper spacer if you want to replace the heatsink pad on the video card and motherboard chipset.
