    Hi,

Help!! I recently set up a router (D-Link 1310) so I could have connectivity with both my Desktop and Laptop. Both are working fine in a wired set up.
I now want to use my Laptop (Dell D820) wireless within my apartment. I installed the driver for the wifi (Dell Wireless Wlan Card), and it's listed in my Add/Remove Programs as such, however I don't see any trace of it anywhere else. I had set this up previously a few years back with the help of Dell (when I had a warranty on the Laptop), and remember seeing the icon to view available networks in the system tray, but I don't see anything there now either. When I click on the Windows Wireless Configuration Utility in Control Panel, nothing happens. I'm thinking that the card must be disabled somehow, but I don't know where to go or how to determine where the problem is. I've tried dealing with Verizon on this, but frankly, they're terrible and I always come away completely frustrated at having wasted the time.

    My basic info:

Windows XP Home, Service Pack 2
D-Link WBR 1310 Router (provided by Verizon when I subscribed to Broadband)
Westell E90-610015-06 Modem (provided by Verizon when I subscribed to Broadband)

Did you try redownloading the WLAN software/driver package through Dell?

Correct driver installed? Dell used several different WLAN modules in the D820...
