    hi,
Other than the Dell website, would anyone know of any deals/coupons or place where I can buy the Dell M6400 laptop for the cheapest price in USA or Canada?

I can't work with my old laptop anymore as it was handed down to me by my brother who is a programmer.. I need a new laptop geared for heavy graphics, rendering, video editing, multi-tasking, and feel the Dell M6400 will take care of all that.

    Thanks.

Other than eBay, I'd say Dell Outlet is honestly your best choice. I'd trust the Dell Outlet quite a bit more than eBay too when you're looking for a nearly new or refurbished machine.

Agreed. Every once in awhile, a coupon might come by to lower the price a bit more, but honestly, I think the "regular" outlet prices are already pretty good.

    for what it's worth...
my company (which is small, only about 50 employees) buys just enough stuff from Dell for us to have an account manager. Any time I make a purchase, I run it by him for a quote first. Usually I price it out on the website, add it to my "saved items" and then email him for a quote.
My M6400 was about $4200 on the website, but he gave me a quote for about $3450 on the very same machine. Times are tuff and they are willing to really cut into their profit margins to move hardware.
So I guess the point of all this is: if you know somebody who makes purchases of Dell hardware for their company, ask if they can hook you up by making the purchase for you. Maybe there is a way to pull a similar deal by simply calling and making offers to a sales rep, but I've never tried it.

I got mine at the outlet and saved about 1500 over the price of a new machine. Look for outlet coupons as well.

that'd be nice... The last firm I worked at used dell equipment but I don't work there anymore and didn't need a computer then :D They're based in Germany so it would be awkward trying to contact them after a year for some help... would you be able to help me aquire one? hahah

What is this outlet and coupons you speak of? Where do I go to look for them? :) thanks

thanks for the links :) btw I see some 15% coupons for Precision units in the coupon link ... just wondering what range do these coupons come in? Do they come in 20% savings or more etc?

20% savings are rare, but they do occur. Although... I haven't been following the dell outlet coupons for very long. I did, however, pick up my Latitude E6400 from the dell outlet, and I think I got a great deal. :D

Do bear in mind, however, that when Dell releases coupons, they sometimes raise the prices so that part of that savings is negated. You'll still end up saving something, but its not as large as the coupon would suggest.
