    Edit:
So much for that, site seems fixed right now.

Dell Precision M6500 Mobile Workstation Details | Dell

Trying to configure an M6500, I can not select the option to include the Recovery Media for Windows 7 without an error popping up saying ""You have selected multiple Resource DVDs. Please remove Resource DVD from either the System Documentation module or the System Recovery module." There is no 'System Documentation' section and 'System Recovery module' is the only section offering the recovery disc. All of the choices in the 'Operating System' section say 'No Media'.

Anyone order one recently? Did you get the Windows 7 recovery/install disc? How?

    Thanks :)

Have a talksie with Dell's sales team, they should provide the physical media at no charge.

As long as your Dell is under manufacturer warranty, as well as HP, Lenovo you can order recovery media for free. There is an extra fee if you want expedited shipping, but free shipping 3-5 business days.

Weird I got my mine overnighted for my Dell E6500/and a couple Inspiron 15r. Perhaps it was because my Dell account is under Small business?

Hrm possibly. I've never needed to order Dell recovery media because I have every single Dell disc in existence at my workplace lol. I'm just quoting for HP consumer grade recovery disc ordering system which extra money is paid for expedited shipping. Dell may automatically overnight everything as this is the same for every single manufacturer for warranty parts minus Sony and Toshiba.

It's a bit tardy, but thanks for the replies.

A question for you guys w/ all those extra recovery discs...These are those OEM Windows install discs? Do they work on any Dell? Or certain ones (like the same models only)?

Any Dell that came with the license. Aka if you have a Vista Dell, Windows 7 Dell disc will not activate it.
