Will just stop. No mouse / touchpad / keys, etc. Only will respond to hard shutdown via power button. Have swapped / reseated DIMMS, Battery, HDD, etc. Hiren's show no problems in diags, etc. Reloaded OS (XP PRO) and was looking good, until... zap, same thing. Any ideas next will be appreciated!

After you reloaded XP, what did you install? If you keep it in the clean state, does the same thing happen?

Install HWmonitor and see what the temperatures are doing. The cooling system may be getting clogged up.
