Dell D630 motherboard help

    Hi there this might sound like a silly thing but i,m building a new Dell D630Laptop and i just wondered how long will a motherboard last is it worth buying a new one or use my old one ? any help thanks:confused:

    I would keep using the old mainboard until it dies. There's a good chance that it will outlive the rest of the hardware.

    Depends on which motherboard it is. There is the Intel Crestline motherboard and the ones with the Nvidia Quadro chip which are infamous for infamous now for artifacts, black screen. If you have the Intel one, you should be good for a long awhile. If you have the Nvidia one, I would just use it til you get no video. The GPU only gets disconnected, your work should still be in tact.

    Hi there yeah i,ve head about this and mine is the Intel DT781 965 Intel chipset graphics onboard so i,ll stick with that and save the money until needed in a few years ha!

    D series Latitudes last quite awhile, I got a D600 recently and I brought it back to life with a fresh image. Yeah if you got Crestline graphics you should be good for a very long time. Just make sure you constantly back up your data, and you should be good to go.
