New to thr forum! Looks like some great info here! When I boot the E6400 I immediately get a bright green screen. Is this an indication of a hardware problem, or is there something messed up in the Bios? I would also like to take it back to a factory condition, nothing but factory defaults in the Bios.Any help is greatly appreciated.

A bright green screen? Is this after the OS starts up or even before that? If the OS has started up to some extent at least, it's probably a driver problem. Try booting into safe mode and downloading the latest Dell drivers.
If that doesn't help, you probably have a broken graphics card. Is this the Nvidia or Intel by the way?

Is the BIOS screen also green, or does it go green when you boot into Windows?
