Yes, they were connecting from the same spot. How can I check the signal strength ? I saw this feature in the INTEL software, the value is given in dBm is that what I have to look for ? :)

I'm gonna contact DELL but I never know how to contact them, since they always try to hide their email so you have to spend thousand on phone calls. Have you guys a good way to contact them (I live in Switzerland) :)

As long as you dial the right number for the business support then someone should answer quickly. Perhaps you should call a UK number via Skype out. Here is the UK small business support contact page. There is also an email facility.

Ok, I had the same problem, when my univeristy switch to wireless N.
I pass through 3 Intel 5100 wireless N cards, and no improvement. Dell Tech's was saying it was just me, being in a bad slot.
I tried to convince them to switch the antenna.. but the tech didn't want to, as wireless used to work fine. I told them my hinges were lose, they send a new screen lid (which included teh hunges and antenna). WIth the replacement.. ta da! Problem solved, and I have superb signal everywhere I go.

When I had the tech coming over to replace the lid, I noticed that the antennas were looking different and that revision of the part is different.
