for those reporting a BSOD, is it actually a BSOD, or does the graphics glitch out and crash? do you have a minidump from the BSOD if it is a BSOD?

    Nope, full on BSOD.

And in fact my confidence that replacing the docking station cured it was misplaced.

All it did was make it go away for 10 days.

Then I got 3 in quick succession.

    Then it went away again.

In general I have a love/hate relationship with this laptop. I moved from a 3.5 yr old XP Pro Dell (Latitude, something I forget) which was dog slow, but apart from that was stable as a rock, so this shiny new 6520 on Win7 Enterprise/64 bit.

It is shiny. And fast. And you can do new and interesting things with it, like run VMs at reasonable speed and so on. And when it works is really nice.

But it is very unstable: BSOD, drops bluetooth pairings randomly .... it's permanently just on the border of being *almost* but not quite annoying enough to wipe it and reinstall completely from scratch. Which would take 2 or 3 solid days to get everything back in order.

And this is with all latest drivers and patches and so on.
