Dell Latitude 13 Internal Webcam troubles

I purchased a Latitude 13 some time ago as a refurb. The unforunate thing is that the laptop for some reason did not come with the webcam installed. I called Dell and they had sent me the webcam and the camera wire. However, I had troubles installing the camera wire because it appeared too small to fit into the backend of the keyboard,ect.

Eventually...curious as to why the camera no longer works, it appears that the camera wire snapped by getting caught on the closing mechanism and no longer works.

My question is this. If I get a camera wire from another Dell model laptop, (looking at Inspirion 1526 webcam cable or other 15 inch laptop (longer cable)
will it read fine on my motherboard and work well?

Moreso, is it safe to assume that the Latitude 13 parts are compatible with the V13 parts as well?

 

Latitude 13 and Vostro V13/V130 parts should be compatible.

I'm not sure they use the same cable. Latitude 13 SM camera portion vs 1525/1526 SM camera portion. Maybe different.

 

Well I am only asking to see if its just a generic cable that connects to any other computer. The cable I got from dell was too short and would not reach to the back end of the connectors.

Thats why I am looking at a dell 15 inch laptop camera cable to see if it is the same thing as the one that works with the Latitude 13. But just longer.
