    i have an old latitude cpt with a 600mhz cpu and was wondering is it possible to upgrade the cpu?

    I was using one of these right up through 2004...

    But yes! You can upgrade the CPU. The processors that you can install might depend on your Cpt flavor (C, S, or V), but I think they all use the mobile equivalent of Slot 1 processors (where the CPU and cache are on separate chips).

    That being said, I'm not sure if there are mobile Slot 1 chips faster than 600MHz... I thought they made mobile Slot 1 Pentium IIIs, but I couldn't find anything on eBay... so your options might be limited, or I might be looking for the wrong thing.

    looking at the bottom it says its a C class and its a celeron cpu, so was looking at fitting a full fat cpu instead of this watered down thing lol
    i have an old slot 1 1.1gig PIII out of my broken advent laptop and was hoping that my fit

    well i opened up the dell and the cpu isnt in a slot its on a small circuit board and you would need to replace the whole thing

    That is what I mean by a slot CPU. The other form factor is a socketed CPU.
