Dell Latitude D620 Sim Modem

    So i want to use Cellular network, i have sim slot with contacts under batter and when i place sim, i see in bios that Cellular Device = installed

    But i don't see it in ubuntu. Any way to install it? Drivers? Or at least model of this Cell modem?

    You need a Cellular based wireless card to use your SIM card. It looks like that system has 2 x 3945 Intel wireless cards installed.

    Well, and why i have sim slot with contacts? Usualy if there is no Cellular support there is no contacts in sim slot.

    Not really, if it did not have the WWAN module how would it receive signals?

    Well, i thought that if i have sim slot WWAN will be on motherboard... Anyway, thx. Though this WWAN module cost over 150 buck which is unacceptable for such crap

    @VROB - check closer. You should be able to pick up a WWAN card for that system for like $30 USD.

    Not sure what carrier you use, but you should be able to pick up an unbranded one in your frequency to use.

    I would say dig a little deeper.
