Hey guys I posted a quick comparison video of the Dell Latitude E4310 + E6410 since I know there are some of you out there (myself included) struggling to choose between these 2 models for their mobile workstation. I do some size, weight, and screen comparison. Hope you like it:

Great video, hellfire88. I've been interested in the two models (I have an E6410)
and you make the differences very clear.

I didn't realize how much functionality was lost with the E4310, and what makes
it worse is that it is so much more expensive than the E6410. The smaller size
is nice though, but the screen is kind of short.

Thanks for the kind words Paul P. The video sounds kinda one-sided towards the E6410 but for me I (for now anyways, may change my mind in a few hours like I always do) will be keeping the E4310 as my "ultra-mobility, but not really" machine. Hoping to get a 3cell battery to bring the weight down to under 4lbs.

You lose a lot (ports, video performance) for that 12.8 - 18.4oz weight difference (depending on battery used) but there's just something about near ultra-portable size (13.3") and potential for under 4lbs weight that sometimes just trumps everything heh.

For mobile gaming I have my HP Envy 14 to keep me company :).

The absurd pricing is the real Achilles heel of the E4310. Here is a notebook PC that makes the 13 inch MacBooks look like good value for the money.

Now obviously, the smaller form factor of the E4310 justifies some premium over the E6410, if only because of the higher manufacturing cost and the low volumes. However, the E4310 isn't all that impressive in size and weight. It isn't hard to see why there isn't a direct competitor in the HP Elitebook line-up. It's hard to see much of a market for the not so light, not so compact, but very pricey E4310. With the battery sticking out of the backside, the E4310 has very nearly the same footprint as the E6410 with the standard 6-cell. Yes, an E4310 withe a 3-cell is decidedly compact, but the battery performance would be a bad joke.

If I really needed a small and thin 13" notebook, I'd go with a cheap Vostro V13, as well as an E6410, and I'd have two notebooks for not much more than a single E4310!

as I have already said, I am really disappointed with the weight increase in both models, and also by the 16:9 being the only option for the E4310. I think this time around Lenovo wins because they improved their models more than dell.
