So I just got my SSD drive a couple of weeks ago and did a fresh install of Windows 7 on my work Dell Latitude E6500 laptop. I thought everything was going great until I woke the laptop up from sleep mode.

Upon waking the laptop, it would give me my login screen and as soon as I put my password in and hit enter it would say "Welcome" and give me the typical Vista/Win7 spinning ring. Just a few seconds later, without even loading my desktop, I get a bluescreen and the laptop reboots.

After searching for an hour or so, I found out that it could be a Video Card driver issue. In my case the NVS 160M driver. I updated the driver from the Dell site first and tested. Still bluescreened when waking from sleep. Updated the driver from Nvidia's site.....same issue.

Checked my SSD firmware and it was the latest version (OCZ Agility 2 V1.33 FIRMWARE). Still bluescreened when waking from sleep.

I was at work today and crazily tried loading the 1.33 firmware again on the SSD...this time the OCZ tool said the computer needed to shut down to complete the firmware update. I shut down and powered it back on after waiting 30 seconds. Tried sleep mode...still..bluescreen on wake.

I decided to take a break from troubleshooting and just read up on SSD's in general. I found an SSD tweak guide from Tom's Hardware.com and started removing things like prefetch, superfetch, paging file, etc. After several reboots from making changes to the registry, etc, I decided to try sleep mode again just to watch it bluescreen at work. I wake the machine and it comes up perfectly. In disbelief I try 4 more times. One of the times even undocking my laptop from the docking station....wakes up perfectly.

No idea what the tweak was that fixed it. I was just trying to reduce writes to the drive and see if I would gain any performance at all from the tweaks. Just like Tom's Hardware, though, I didn't notice any performance difference.

My best guess is when I disabled the option to "flush page file on shutdown" in windows. Maybe it's tied to sleep mode somehow. Regardless, sleep mode has been working all afternoon/evening without a hitch. I just love how much QUIETER my work laptop is now thanks to the SSD.

Figured I would post this here since I found very little on SSD and Latitude E6500 in here. Hope this helps someone out there who is trying to figure out what to do....lol, even though I don't know what exactly fixed the issue.
