You need a device driver to interface it to Windows (will enable webcam in Device Manager). And you need a webcam application to use it.

Dell ships a driver and an application on CD (takes pics and makes video). Or, you could try Dell.com or Windows Update to find a device driver to enable the webcam. And then install your favorite webcam application to use it, such as Skype (now owned by Microsoft for a mere $8.5B!).

    Hi GK,
Many thanks for getting back. The problem is I don't have this CD/DVD.
Any thoughts of where I can get the drivers.I have tried Dell and no joy.
I have installed Dell Webcam Centre and if I invoke an application I get the message "NO SUPPORTED WEBCAM DRIVER".Please instal the webcam driver using the Dell Resource CD.I on't have the CD.
    Many thanks
    Zaf

If Dell.com does not offer a webcam driver, then Windows/Windows Update probably does. My E6410 webcam driver came from Win7.

You'll need to get a driver installed before any apps can use the webcam.
