I have recently installed Windows 7 (64bits) operating system on a Dell M4500.The problem I have is when I open the Device Manager and see under " OTHER DEVICES " the Network Controller and an Unknown device".When I right click and examine the properties I get the following message.
The DRIVERS FOR THIS DEVICE ARE NOT INSTALLED (Code 28).
Where do I get the drivers and under what section do they come under i.e comms, operating system etc.
Under the same listing I have an Unknown device. What device can this be.
    Any input would be appreciated.

Network Controller should be the WLAN card. You can get the driver from Welcome to Dell Technical Support (enter your service tag to filter the list of drivers, otherwise you need to identify which WLAN card you have).

Download the Dell E-Family How-To Reimage Guide pdf. This guide provides very precise instructions for rebuilding the software, using drivers/utilities/applications downloaded from Dell's web site.

The "Unknown Device" might be the "ST Micro Accelerometer" (free fall sensor).
