Hi people, first time on a forum, i'll try n explain my problem.
We have just purchased 2 Dell Vostro Laptops and very nice they are to. I being a man who likes the best decided that the Win7 pro was just not suitable and in my error i purchased a so called Dell Win7 Ultimate disc off Ebay ,it has Dell all over the disc so i thought no worries.
I decided that id upgrade my Vostro 3750 to Ultimate 64bit as i have 8 gig of ram and that went very nice and smooth.
When i did the exact same thing on the wifes Vostro 3550 the poo hit the fan, We had blue screens all the time and the Ultimate would not go on at all due to the BSOD.
I have tried many many times to go back to the origional Dell Pro Dvd that came with the Laptop but it will not install ???? it get to the stage of loading windows files and thats it.... nothing! ... I thought maybe a bios prob so went to Dell site and got a updated Bios that went on and then i thought the problem was solved. But to my amazement the Win7 disc from Dell will still not load .... i hope theres a techno guy there that can shine some light o this for me.
Btw, the 64bit version i installed on my PC works just fine no problems at all..

I think there's a hardware failure with the 3550. If it's still under warranty, call Dell and see what they can do for you. My bet is a bad hard drive or maybe memory.

Ya you got some sort of hardware problem as stated above. If you have On Site warranty, you can get a technician to come inside your home/office and fix the computer right there. 3550 is brand new and should still be in warranty...so call up Dell.
