    1. The base processor is now the i3-370M, while the former base processor, the i5-520M, is now a $50 upgrade. Since the overall base price was only decreased by $30, this represents a net increase of $20 compared to the previous baseline configuration!

Is there any advantage to paying more money for lesser hardware? Even for a undemanding user, is there any advantage in a i3-370M processor over the i5-520M?

    2. Latitude ON Flash quietly disappeared in the last week or so. It's unclear if this is due to the temporary unavailability of hardware or the discontinuation of this obscure Splashtop derivative.

As a quick booting Linux operating system, Latitude ON Flash wasn't all that much quicker starting than Windows 7 due to the mandatory password prompt. Actually, Latitude ON Flash might have taken longer to boot than Windows 7 if the user is a slow typist, assuming, of course, that user doesn't bother with a password for Windows 7 .
