I've had issues with my display and now Dell is doing a system exchange for me. Has anyone done this?

I have a few questions if so,
    1) how long did it take for the replacement to arrive? The SLA given to me was up to 21 days. That seems like a really long time.
    2) was it a better system? model upgrade, etc.? Would love a new m4500, but doubt that'll happen :)

Dell support has a been great to work with thought all of this - I'd almost bought a Mac but Dell's support is making me glad I picked them.

    Edit -
So the replacement shipped today and is due tomorrow by 3pm. That's fast! From the details it looks about the same except for the 2ccfl screen.

If they're giving you a M4400 without a WUXGA screen i'd definetly make the point that it's NOT equal or better. Their only option is to give you a M4500 with a full HD screen as both WUXGA screen options for the M4400 are impossible to get.
Just make the screen a very important factor and they'll have to provide something equal or better.

They gave me a referb m4400 w/ the WUXGA 2CCFL screen - but it's impossible for me to use this screen - my eyes are killing me after less than a few hours of use. It's an LG and from researching on these forums, that's the "best" one. It looks grainy/dim/very yellow compared to the LED WXGA+ that I had prior - I called in and they are sending a tech out Tuesday to put a WXGA+ screen on it. I didn't mind the resolution of the WXGA+ screen on previous one at all.

Other than that, the specs are identical to the to the previous one.

Also, I've see several referb m4400's in the outlet with the WUXGA RGB-LED screen.

Edit - as I stew on it, I'm really starting to get po'd with the quality of the screens Dell has given me. Counting this one, that's 4 really bad screens that I've gotten from Dell over 2 different laptops. I'm just trying to get back to a usable screen w/ no issues and good viewing angles. Dell really can't provide that - all of the inventory is referb and it's a complete lottery - so far with 100% bad stock. I feel like I'm stuck in a game that I can't get out of at this point. I'd cut my losses and get a new computer if I could afford it.

It's best to keep to a resolution / pixel size that you know that your eyes can handle. I found that very high resolution doesn't work for me. One can fiddle with display scaling to increase font sizes but one pixel thick lines become too thin for me to see.

    Yeah that kinda sucks :(
The 2CCFL and RGB screens are definetly the best options quality-wise but you do have to be able to deal with the high-res.
You could get the screen you want from ebay, then you know exactly which one you're getting

    Thanks for the advice.=!

I'm on the verge of losing it w/ Dell on these screens. Really crossing my fingers that the panel on Tuesday is one I live with. No idea what I can do if it's not.

50% of my laptop usage is on the sofa - 1920x1200 is fine on a desk but not on a sofa :)
