    Dear,

I have a question. I bought today a dell vostro 1015. I installed the windows 7 drivers and conexant audio driver. But my sound is too low is this normal? I know the speakers are small but is it possible to make the sound louder?

1 question more, in my device manager i see Base System Device is not installed. Is this related to audio or is it related to my card reader?

    Thanks,

    Kurdy

I assume you bought the one with Windows Vista and put 7 on after wards? If so, did you manage to hear how the sound was with Vista to compare?

As for the base system device is related to your card reader.

I have a question, I was wanting to get a Vostro 1015, is it well built? Is the keyboard loud or have flex? Thanks!

Thanks for replying. I bought it without Vista or Windows 7. Ubuntu was installed. I downloaded the windows 7 drivers from the site. But i'm sure this is not the correct volume. Because i cant hear much when its on the highest volume.

About the keyboard its good its between loud and soft..anyway i like this model and the built quality is good also.

    Have a nice day.

    One more thing,

When i update my audio driver to Conexant HD Audio the sound is not much clear or loud. When i update it to the standard High Definition Audio Device the sound is better but not still not loud but its louder than conexant hd audio. But still my problem is not solved :(

I've been reading the reviews for the Vostro 1014/15 on Dell's own website and almost all of them say the sound is perhaps the worst part of the system. The volume is really low and that there is only one speaker in the system. Perhaps that's just how it is meant to be for that particular system.
