    Hi Guys,

This is the first time I even write something on this forum and truly hope that I can get some help.

I recently received my new Vostro 1320. Everything else works fine except the speaker. Apparently Dell didn't make any improvements on the speaker even though that's the ONE thing people complained the most with Vostro 1310.

My problem is that when I put the volume to the highest level, the sound got distorted. Specifically, you can hear squeaking noise (kind of like high-pitch noise) coming out the mono speaker. I am not sure whether that is common for a mono speaker or it is defective.

I called Dell tech support and was told that I need to return it to the depot for it to be checked, which is really not something I want to do for the speaker problem.

    Many thanks for your help.

The speaker is probably too small for all that power.
