    Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone out there could shed some light on this, just in case I don't have to shell out any money for a replacement.

My screen is supposed to be 1280x800...but for some reason, the monitor driver shows up as "Digital Flatpanel 1024x768". It doesn't use about three inches of the right of the screen, and has sort of a glitch on the bottom half inch of the screen. Other problems include a pink stripe up one side of the screen, and backlight issues...it won't seem to go any higher than the lowest setting. I've done essentially all I can think of. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

That indeed is an odd problem. Have you try updating the drivers? Can you display externally?

That would be my suggestion as well. I'm currently running 267.76 on my Vostro 1500. That driver works very well and it also has a clean sweeper built in which removes all traces of the previous driver then installs the newer one.
