Dell Vostro 1720 Heatsink Question

Hi, does anyone know if the nvidia (9600GS) chip and the cpu are on the same heatsink on the vostro 1720?

A picture of the 1720 with an nvidia card's motherboard would be good, i want to see the layout of the heatsink(s)

Yes it is on the same gpu.

Do you know if an intel motherboard is compatible with the nvidia one? my nvidia motherboard blew.

 

No guarantees, but it should work. I had a 1510 and the only difference between the Intel and Nvidia boards was that the Nvidia chip was present on one, and wasn't present on the other. You could even see the pinout for the chip and memory on the Intel board.

You might need to change the heatsink, but other than that...
