I currently have a Dell Vostro 1720 laptop with the current video card:

Mobile Intel(R) 45 Express Chipset Family (Microsoft Corporation - WDDM 1.1)

Can anyone please tell me if it is possible for me to upgrade this laptop's video card to something better? Also, where can I purchase these video cards?

    Thank you.

I'm pretty sure a discrete GPU was offered with the 1720... but I'm also pretty sure you have to replace the motherboard to get it.

Commander Wolf is correct, the 9600M GS 256 MB was offered as an upgrade but the GPU is soldered onto the motherboard. You would have to completely change out your motherboard to get discreet graphcs.
