    Hi everyone,

I am planning to replace my Vostro 3750 matte 17" 1600*900 screen. I really enjoy the laptop but the picture quality is very poor and in addition two weird brownish spots appeared in it (hard to describe - not bad pixel, but something inside). I didn't expect much of a screen in a laptop for 700 Euros, but I am really disappointed and angry every time I am editing my pictures, watching a movie or even playing a stupid game.
No contrast at all and black is absolutely gray.. My 4 years old cheap TN desktop panel is way better.

Here comes the thing. What are my restrictions when deciding on a replacement. Can I just simply order and try any 17" panel (with the exactly same dimensions) with LED backlight? Can i upgrade the resolution with no worries and if not, why? :)
I am thinking of Dell XPS 17 Full HD panel which can be bought for ca. 80 USD. https://www.laptopscreen.com/English/model/Dell/XPS~17~L702X/

Here are some pictures of my original panel including the model number:
    vostro3750

If it helps somehow, the laptop runs on nvidia optimus (intel gc + nvidia 525m)

    Thank you for any suggestion,
    Tony
