Dell Vostro "No TPM" problem?

    Does the laptop BIOS offer an option to bypass the self test (POST)?

    Maybe reflash the BIOS; there is a small chance it might be corrupt.

    All I am seeing regarding booting is:

    Boot-time Diagnostic screen which is Disabled
    and also
    Quickboot mode which is Enabled

    So think reflashing the BIOS might work?

    No, not really. I think you have a failure on the system board that needs to be repaired. I just said you can *try* reflashing. You might try removing anything plugged into the media bay (e.g. CD/DVD player).

    Grasping at straws...

    A friend said he cleared that symptom by removing a stick of expansion RAM. The RAM was bad. Was not a Dell laptop though.
