And if so, how much of a drain is it on the battery?

Also, whats the easiest/quickest way to turn the adapter on/off?

you could just have the switch on the right side set to only switch off BT and not Wifi. You can choose what the switch controls in BIOS. I have no idea how much it would save really but might be worth a try

I used to have it always on and the difference in battery life is around 20 minutes in my case.

I have it always on, only because I usually use a bluetooth mouse or headset while I'm on the computer.

I have mine disabled via the BIOS. I never use BT, but Dell gave it to me for free as part of a problem resolution earlier this year.

I suppose if I ever need it then I've got it.

IF I had one, I'd keep it off unless I was going to use it. I mean, you're (almost) always on WiFi, but rarely on bluetooth (most mice use dongles anyway, right?). So I'd keep it off.

Oh, and 15 minutes on light use seems like a reasonable reduction.

always on with razer orochi mice, and always on power :D
I used to right click tray icon > Disable bluetooth to turn it off,
since I'm only using wi-fi switch for wifi only.
