Does Dell D420 support 64bit Windows 7?

    64 bit windows is becoming mainstream and I feel I might get left behind.

    I just bought an mTron SLC SSD used on ebay and I think this laptop is for another 4-5 years.

    What processor do you have? I don't think any D420 shipped with anything newer than an LV/ULV Core Solo/Duo (as opposed to C2D/C2S), none of which are 64bit capable.

    Yeah, pretty much confirms it. Afaik, no Core Duo is 64bit capable.

    Yup, 32 bit only. Right now, the only real advantage to 64 bit (for most people) is the ability to run more than 3 or 3.5gigs of memory.
