I gather that it's similar to Lenovo's problem. Some keyboards have flex, others do not. It's all luck of the draw.

    Have you contacted Dell?

Do they consider this a problem or normal?

I was a bit worried about the keyboard flex when I first got my m6400 since I hadnt experienced anything like it on any laptop before. Having used it for 10 months now I can safely say it doesnt bother me one bit. I dont even think about it anymore. If you feel its to much of a problem there should be some tips on how to deal with it in the m6400 owners lounge thread if I remember correctly.

could be from different suppliers. dell has 2-3 suppliers for each part, with the exception of course of the processor/gpu

I too was worried about some of the comments re keyboard flex,

To put it into context on mine the area arround the Trackpoint nipple has the most deflection, this is no mre than 1mm and that takes a slight but noticable degree of pressure to achieve. I find that my normal typing action produces minimal or no flex - I would anticipate the flex will be almost unnoticable unless you are a bit heavy on the keypad.
Personally I have no problem with the build and would recommend the M6400 to anyone looking for a top rate Laptop (and not put off by the considerable purchase cost)

Usually they don't flex and there is only 4 screws to unmount and install paper or rubber under keyboard ;)

Mine flexed way too much. A replacement keyboard did nto fix the issue. I put a .5" (approximately) pad under the keyboard. (the type that goes behind a picture frame so it doesnt rub against the wall) shaved down to about 1/32 of an inch and it helped a lot. I should have installed another on the other side. Would have been perfect. I am not too fond of the M6400. A poor build overall.
