I have been doing a lot of reading over the course of a few days in regardings to DPC latency and Nvidia Powermizer. More specifically I have been trying to assemble an opinion on my machine in particular as the exchange policy is running out quick ;) (4 days)

I bought my E6410 off of Ebay from a high feedback seller in Canada. It has an Core i7 620M and NVS 3100m dedicated graphics. The stock Windows 7 had a horrid amount of DPC issues coming from multiple drivers. I have reinstalled twice and tried all the Nvidia drivers available. All have DPC issues. Looks like Powermizer is the cause at least in my case. The DPC goes from average 1500us to <200us when running a 3d application. I am also aware of the utility made by GoodBytes which is much appreciated.

    Below is my DPC screenshot:

Steps taken to resolve the issue
    1) Bios Updated to A05 because of stuttering
    2) Latest Nvidia Drivers tried and were worse latency then stock
    3) Multiple reinstalls and one at a time driver testing verses DPC Latency Checker Tool
    4) Research shows from the DPC Latency Thread and other various threads including this one at Lenovo:T410 Extremely Annoying Audio Issues that there are issues with Powermizer and DPC.

So does anyone get DPC like the above screenshot with the NVS 3100M dedicated card? Or is mine considerably worse and I have a hardware issue?

EDIT: Sorry for the doublepost? I hit post the first time and it asked me to login again. Weird bug I guess!

My T61 has that issue with the NVS 140M, and I "sort of" fixed it by using PowerMizer Switch to lock the GPU in the full-on state. It doesn't keep the clocks at 3D speeds, but it prevents most stuttering. It still happens with some Flash videos, seemingly dependent on how much power it requires, but definitely better than with power-save mode.

    Hello, I have a related questions to the NVS 3100 - E6410:
    · ¿Does it have Optimus? ¿Does it work properly?
    · ¿Is there any option in the laptop's BIOS that allows you to choose the default graphics or to deactivate the Nvidia Quadro permanently?

    Thanks in advance.

Seems Nvidia needs to fix their junk Powermizer portions of the drivers! :(

    1) It does not have optimus. You can get the E6410 with Intel only or NVS3100 only.

    2) Again, no optimus but it does have Nvidia Powermizer (With the NVS3100) that downclocks the graphics chip. This powersaving feature is causing the DPC issue.

Hope that clears it up for you.
