I've got external speakers connected to my dock, but lately when I connect my E6410 to the dock the sound switches over from the internal speakers to the external speakers... but then cuts out after three or four seconds.... leaving my with no sound whatever. (The internal speakers and headphone jack remain inoperable). And it's not a problem with my external speakers... the audio jack on the dock won't work with my headphones either.

All of the other connections (Video and USB) are fine.

    Any thoughts?

have you tried to remove and reinstall the audio driver? I would try that first.

    Thanks for that.

I was trying to try that.... but that's another issue.

When I try to download the driver I end up downloading Dell's "delldriverdownloadmanager" app instead of the driver. And when I double-click on the app it tells me that I have no drivers to install....

    Thanks to all.

The problem was fixed by Dell (Pro Support... a good investment IMHO).

Turned out that somehow some config settings got scrambled.
