    Hello,

I have a Latitude E4310 and an E-Port Plus Replicator. When everything is all setup and I power on the laptop the monitor, USB keyboard and mouse do not work and the laptop is running off its battery instead of the outlet power. Pretty much all the E-Port will do is charge the laptop when it is turned off. I am using a 130-watt power adapter with this setup.

I noticed that when the laptop is turned on, docked and nothing is working, the E-Port's power and eject button lights will flash every ten seconds.

Sometimes when I reseat the laptop into the dock, the laptop's keyboard and trackpad/track point will function intermittently as if the two are trying to synch. Eventually Windows 7 will display the following error message from the Dell System Manager: "A generic problem has occurred. As a result, the dock may have limited to no functionality. Reseat your system into the dock." I can then resume use of the laptop's keyboard and trackpad/track point.

Aside from this new issue, the Latitude E4310 is running great with no issues and all appropriate drivers loaded into Windows 7 Ultimate. In addition, it has the latest BIOS from Dell.com, version A05. I am baffled as to what the issue is here... Unfortunately, I do not have another laptop to try with my E-Port or another E-Port to try with my laptop to further troubleshoot the issue.

I am missing something here in the setup or how to dock the laptop? I am thinking there must be a hardware issue somewhere and will contact Dell Support on Monday. Any advice or assistance in the meantime would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Sounds like a bad dock port. But it's always worth trying another replicator first. If that does not work contact dell support and have them come out and swap your motherboard.
