Yeah so my brand new E4200. Went to install Ubuntu on it. Voila the Esata cable connecting to the external drive refuses to come out of the notebook. Please tell me there is a magic button that I have to push... Thanks in advance.

My E6400 has "tight" USB and eSATA ports. They have become better now (actually, right now they are great, quite tight but still easy to pull out), but at start I felt the same way as you do.

Don't be afraid, just remember to hold the laptop with one hand (so it won't budge) and pull the cable with the other hand (preferably your stronger hand should pull the cable).

You can be gentle and firm at the same time. My E4200 eSATA port is EXACTLY the same, a little bit of pushing and pulling with various cables did the trick.

Don't be afraid to pull it out, there is no latch! Just don't force anything,

Tried everything lol, it just wont come out. I am stumped.

Edit nvm I pulled REALLY hard and it came out. Seriously afraid that I was going to break it. Don't know why it is so freaking tight.

It's like that for the first couple of times
Nah..all the ports were really tight and indeed especially the eSATA/USB combo port. It gets better after use though, don't worry....and glad you got it out!
