    Hi guys,

I've been reading on this forum for some time but only just registered in the hopes someone can shed some light on a problem I've been having:

I have an E4300 and an E6400. The E6400 came with a 5530 WWAN chip, which I would like to move into my E4300 instead. When opening the WLAN/WWAN compartment of the E4300 however there does not seem to be any wiring for the GSM card.

I then found some antenna wires leading to the Latitude ON slot. Since I really doubt I will be getting a Latitude ON chip in the near future, would I be able to run these wires to the WWAN card?

    Thanks!

My E4300 also doesn't have any WWAN cables preinstalled. If there are no cables then I expect there will also be no WWAN antennae.

So I would need to put on a new screen cover assembly to make it work?

The Service Manual might explain how to install the WWAN antennae and cabless

I just added a Dell 5700 Verizon card (from eBay) to my e4300.

I moved the two black and white connectors from the WiFi card to the verizon card and they worked just great.

There is a grey connector with it's end inside a plastic sleeve. I removed the plastic and attached it to the white post on the WiFi card and now my broadband and my wifi cards have strong signals.

With the grey lead connected I get 5 bars and execlenet signal strength from my 802.11g router. Disconnecting the grey lead drops me to 1 bar and poor signal strength.

    Try it and see.

That sounds very good! Will definitely give it a try.

Latitude ON doesn't use a live cable or anything else that can fry my 5530 does it?

Tried it last night but didn't manage to get the antenna wires from the Latitude ON slot to the WWAN compartment. It seems like they're actually stuck underneath the motherboard. Does that mean I would have to take the whole motherboard out or is there another way?
